![]() The reverb is pretty good and the vibrato/tremolo works well and is a nice extra. The clean is good and usable, but obviously starts to break up a bit early and not as clean as a valve amp. You won't get metal distortion tones out of it, (I use a pedal if I want really dirty), but it does give the classic Vox sound. It'll rattle my floorboards at 1/4 volume with the boost engaged, and considering it only has an 8" speaker in a fairly small cabinet the sound is full and rounded, the distortion is fat and creamy, not thin and fizzy, with good mid and low extension. The tone and volume from the little Vox is very impressive, the only S-S amp I've heard that sounded better was a big 70's Ampeg 2x12. I seriously don't know how they do it for the price- this 'mini AC30' is well made, looks cool and sounds ace. I've played through a lot of amps, solid-state and valve and this is hands-down the biggest bargain I've had.
